What is the Cause of Sepsis?

This patient was admitted for septic shock. CXR showed bilateral LL infiltrates. This image was obtained. What was shown in the image?

 

 


Answer: The USG image showed a consolidated right lower lobe with sonographic equivalent of :air bronchogram” There is also septated effusion around. The cause of sepsis is pneumonia with complicated parapneumonic effusion
