Synopsis:
This is a 2-hour case-based seminar on moral reasoning in clinical ethics for practitioners in medicine, nursing and allied health. Moral reasoning in clinical medicine is a process in which the healthcare provider deliberates to identify the most ethical approach to patient management for a given particular clinical situation. It is a process that entails the consideration of medical, ethical, social, familial, cultural, religious and legal factors. Relevant cases will be used to illustrate the importance and impact of the various factors.
