A M/ 45 with history of HBV cirrhosis was admitted for abdominal distending discomfort. He was afebrile and bowel sound was absent. The following scan was done over the right lower quadrant. What is shown on the scan?

Answer: the scan showed small amount of ascites and active peristalsis. When active peristalsis is seen by USG, major intra-abdominal catastrophy is unlikely
