Highlights of the 41st HKSCCM Council Meeting
1. Finalized Auditor’s report and summary of accounts for period ended on 31st March 2013 had been adopted in last council meeting. The annual return was then submitted to Company Registry which did not pursue further for legal proceeding. AGM 2013 will be re-convened same day of council meeting.
2. The project of community promotion is led by the committee chaired by Dr. Shum Hoi Ping. We are looking for opportunity to collaborate with the medical student society of HKU to host health exhibition.
3. HKU-SZH ICU will join the roster of CCM inter-hospital grand-round, starting from September meeting.
4. In the coming AGM 2014, council re-election will be due. So far, council has been informed that the chairman, the treasurer, Dr. Tang Kam Shing and Dr. Tai Kian Bun will opt for resignation, while Dr. Wong Wai Tat has moved from CMC to work in PWH. The involved council members have been advised to nominate suitable colleagues to represent the respective units in next term of council.
5. The ASM 2014 organizing committeeis formed and the first OC meeting will be held at the end of July 2014. Chairman and Dr. Wan Wing Lun will join the OC.
6. It was resolved that the position statement for “CIS specification” is no longer of immediate clinical relevance and its drafting process will then cease. Council suggests Dr. Gordon Choi to lead a working group for drafting position statement on “ICU sedation”, and Dr. Choi will seriously consider it.
7. The 2nd Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy symposium held on 14 June 2014was a great success. HKSCCM received an income of HKD 2,000.
8. Council nominates Dr. Chan King Chung to represent HKSCCM to join the OC of M3C Conference 2015 which will be held in May 2015.
9. Council supports Dr. Gordon Choi to represent HKSCCM to give lecture in the annual conference of Macau Society of Emergency & Critical Care Medicine
10. HKSCCM will co-organize an evening symposium of “Citrate Anticoagulation in CRRT” with Fresenius Medical Care on 28th October 2014.
