Highlights of the Twenty fifth Council meeting on 13 March 2012
1. HKSCCM book publication committee have met Commercial Press Company (商務), and the draft will be accepted soon. The final date of publication may be as early as 4th quarter of 2012.
2. CCMF received three applications in 2012, and all of them are newly joined nursing members of HKSCCM. The applications are approved by CCMF committee out of discretion, but they are reminded to show evidence of active participation of HKSCCM before reimbursement of course fee.
3. Council considers it necessary to formalize the policy and rules to govern web posting of materials provided by pharmaceutical companies. Any income in form of donation will go to CCMF funding.
4. The position statement “Transfusion in Major Trauma”, being prepared by Dr. CM Chau is distributed to council members to gather opinion from ICU colleagues. The position statement of CIS Specification and ICU Nursing Manpower Requirement are in progress.
5. The organizing committee of ASM 2012 will be led by Dr. Anne Leung (Cons, ICU of QEH). Interested colleagues may contact Dr. Yan or Dr. Leung directly.
6. Four colleagues have accepted invitation to submit four CCM-related articles t o頭條日報 as public education. Meanwhile council welcomes for any suggestion on speaker and topic of talk to be broadcasted in RTHK radio program “精靈一點”
7. Next HKSCCM inter-hospital grand-round will be hosted on 22nd May 2012. One presentation will be given by overseas speaker, and another presentation will be done by Union Hospital.
8. WFSICCM will organize an event World Sepsis Day, and the preparation meeting will be attended by Dr. Anne Leung during the coming ISICEM in Brussels
9. Council members will help reminding their respective units about the two coming events initiated by overseas/ local professional bodies: ICON, the audit project designed by WFSICCM; M3C, the symposium organized by Association of Private Medical Specialists.
10. Dr. Wong Wai Tat, associate consultant of CMC ICU, will be invited to represent CMC ICU to attend our council meetings in future because of the staff movement involving Dr. Alfred Chan.
