Highlights of the Nineteenth Council meeting on 15 March 2011
1. Legal advisor had submitted the revised M&A of HKSCCM to Company Registry, and notification to Inland Revenue Department (IRD) was also made. We are now waiting reply from IRD on recognition of HKSCCM as charitable body. (Post-meeting notes: IRD had issued formal reply on 17th Mar to confirm the status of HKSCCM as charitable body)
2. Cumulative content hit rate of HKSCCM web had exceeded 830,000. Editors are reminded to submit or coordinate members to submit materials to website, so as to constantly furnish the website.
3. Several HKSCCM position statements are still in process of drafting. New topics undergoing consideration include Clinical Information System (CIS).
4. The current term of membership lasts from 1st Jan 2011 to 31st Dec 2012. Council members are encouraged to recruit nursing members from individual centers. Those members who had joined the society in 2010 will be entitled to extend the membership to the end of current term.
5. One application of CCMF subsidy was approved. The applicant will be reminded to contribute to HKSCCM in active manner so as to conform to the policy.
6. Committee will be formed for (a) Promotion of public awareness of critical care medicine in community; (b) Annual Scientific Meeting 2011. Interested council member may feel free to contact chairman
7. HKSCCM council had received one formal complaint on the arrangement of dinner after scientific conference. The issue was discussed, and will be forward to co-organizer for feedback. The process of organizing academic activity will be reviewed and optimized.
8. One enquiry about failure to undertake on-site registration during last ASM 2010 was received in February i.e. two months after the event. Details including the identity of person to launch the enquiry are still lacking. The organizing committee of ASM 2010 will investigate further before issuing formal reply

Dear Council Members
I would like to inform you that the next council meeting will be held at 1730 on 15th March 2011 at the D6 conference room of QEH. The agenda, minutes of last meeting and the relevant documents are as arttached. Please note that all subsequent council meetings shall fall on the same date of HKSCCM inter-hospital grand-round unlesss otherwise specified. You may look at the schedule here.
