Theme : AHA Guidelines 2010; Organizer : Clinical Skills Training Centre; Date : 27 Jan 2011 (Thu) 2:45p – 5:00p; Venue : Lecture Theatre, 2/F., ACC, TMH
Resuscitation comprises of both clinical science & art. The American Heart Association and European Resuscitation Council conduct regular meetings to review, recommend & update the guidelines.
In 2010, the principles and priority have evolved to ‘CAB’ from ‘ABC’. Compression plays a more vital part than Breathing especially in the adult with cardiac aetiology of arrest particularly in the OHCA (out-of-hospital cardiac arrest) in which breathing resuscitator is usually not immediately a/v.
CCC (continuous chest compression) without artificial breathing has become the acceptable practice in many cities for pre-hospital CPR by the public.
How about the changes in the electric Rx for cardiac arrest & arrhythmia ?
What are the essential points in managing cardiac arrest in special situations including pregnancy, patients with Cardiopacer or AICD, drowning & hypothermia ?
What are the differences between In-hospital & Pre-hospital (indoor, outdoor or on the aeroplane) CPR by the professional & the laymen ?
Successful resuscitation (Chain of Survival) begins in the pre-hospital phase with instrumental contribution by the by-standers. Resuscitology involves a great deal of in-depth knowledge & skills and consequently has become a Subspecialty in many countries. However, the implementation procedures must not only be simple, clear & deliverable to meet the providers’ constraints in the out–of-hospital situation, but sophisticated, reliable & robust to satisfy the in-hospital needs of both the Resuscitology & non-Resuscitology units.
The participant quota is 200.
‘Training Staff & Helping Patients’ is the mission of CSTC.
