Highlights of the Fourteenth Council meeting on 18 May 2010 (Click Read More to view)
1. HKSCCM had submitted its annual plan of year 2010 to Inland Revenue Department as part of the application for status of charitable body.
2. HKSCCM website will launch two new features (a) “Patient Page” in which information will be uploaded to promote public awareness and knowledge about field of CCM; (b) Council meetings” in which agendas and minutes of all council meetings will be uploaded for council members to take reference (Access limited to council members only, requires login)
3. Existing editors will have their editor status de-activated if they failed to actively participate in the running of HKSCCM website. Practically, council agreed that a period of nil log-in for six month will be regarded as insufficient participation.
4. HKSCCM will contribute HKS 200,000 to Critical Care Medicine Foundation (CCMF) in order to initiate the fund. Dr Tang Kam Shing will formulate the policy/ targeted recipients and scope of sponsored activities.
5. An executive summary and flow chart of procedure in submitting application of HKSCCM sponsorship had been finalized. All potential applicants are advised to refer to the details, which will be posted up in HKSCCM website.
6. HKSCCM position statement on hyperbaric oxygen therapy had been finalized. The coming one on prophylaxis against deep vein thrombosis will soon be ready. There are still a number of statements in progress of drafting.
7. Organizing committee of HKSCCM annual scientific symposium was set up.
8. An editorial board will be set up to take up the responsibility of publication of a book for the general public to promote public awareness of CCM and ICU service. Dr WW Yan, Dr CW Lau and Dr Alfred Chan had agreed to join. All members are welcome to join, please contact Dr CW Lau in the coming two weeks.
9. Dr Chan Kin Wai will be assigned as the representative from private sector with effect from end of June 2010.
