Dear council members
Notice is hereby given that the fourth executive council meeting of Hong Kong Society of Critical Care Medicine (HKSCCM) will be held at conference room of D6 (ICU) of QEH on 23 September 2008 at 1730 for the following purposes:
1. To confirm the minutes of the fifth executive council meeting, which was held on 22 July 2008;
2. To report progress of the following issues
n Company registration of HKSCCM, construction of M & A of society
n Joint scientific symposium of HKSCCM and HKACCN;
3. To discuss the affiliation of society to journal Critical Care Shock;
4. To transact any other business.

I. Confirmation of last minutes

II. Company registration of society
n Company Registries is in process of consideration about application of HKSCCM
n Auditor had advised the following as preparation.
1. The existing account of HKSCCM with sum of money and assets if any will be donated to a new bank account of the newly formed Hong Kong Society of Critical Care Medicine Limited. Chairman will cross-check for any other existing bank account in operation under the name of HKSCCM
2. The new bank account should bare the names of four people, namely the chairman; the treasurer; the secretary and Dr Law Kin Ip. Any two out of four signatures will be required to gain access to the transaction of money.
3. Financial year of the society starts from the 1st of April of any year to the 31st of March of the year after.
n An extraordinary meeting will be called at 30/12/2008 for the adoption of above matter.

IV. Society website
n Dr Chan King Chung demonstrated various templates in council meeting
n “Optimus” template was selected as webpage setup
n The website will be soon in function, and webmasters will modify and update in echoing to any comments

V. Scientific conference/ meetings
|
|
|
n Dr Tang Kam Shing, chairman of the organizing committee had reported the following to council:
1. The conference is planned to be hosted on 24-25/10/09, and will consists of 1.5 days programme
2. The preliminary venue is to be confirmed. Available options include headquarters complex of Hospital Authority (HAHO); School of Public Health at Prince of Wales Hospital; various ballrooms of hotels. Due to anticipated limit of available sponsor, HAHO appears much more reasonable choice
3. Confirmed overseas speaker: Professor Paul Mayo
4. Sponsorship source: Wyeth; Gambro; Philips and Sanofi had agreed to sponsor the symposium. Overall amount is estimated to be at most $200,000 to $ 300,000
n OC will have the fourth meeting on 1/12/2008. Dr Chan Wai Ming will join the meeting as well

VI. Inter-hospital CCM meeting
|
|
|
n Contact person of inter-hospital CCM meeting is settled to be Dr Chan Pik Kei Osburga for the sake of convenience. Any company with interest to offer sponsorship should contact Osburga.
