We are writing to introduce and seek your kind support to our Certificate in Infection Control Course organized by the Carol Yu Centre for Infection, Department of Microbiology and Center for Health Promotion, School of Nursing, HKU.
The purpose of this series of course is to provide knowledge and practical experience in infection control measures, through an interactive and problem-solving approach in learning, for clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals and other healthcare workers who are interested or actively involved in the daily management of hospital infection control.
We would like to solicit your help to invite your colleagues in your workplace to attend. We hope our candidates can be benefit from our illustrative lectures, interactive video shows, practical demonstration of outbreak management and patient care practice procedures.
The course is not only limited to the staff who are working in the infection control team. In fact, we encourage all frontline healthcare workers, in particular nursing colleagues to participate as infection control is everybody business nowadays.
The next module – course 3 “Nosocomial Infections Prevention and Control” will be held on 7-8 July 2012.
For this cycle of the Certificate in Infection Control course, we are pleased to have secured a Mr Lui Hac Minh Prize for Infection Control, for the candidate who attained the highest score in all assessments. A certificate will be given to all candidates who have completed all six modules and performed satisfactorily in all course assessments. Nurses can also select to study one or more single module, and CNE points will be awarded on completion of the module. Free lunch is provided on Saturday and Sunday.
