Highlights of the Twenty-ninth Council meeting on 13th Nov 2012
1. Council welcome Dr. SY Lam as council member to represent NDH and would like to thank Dr Chau Chin Man for his past contribution to the Society.
2. HKSCCM website content broke record >4500 visitors per day on 24th October, where visitors from more than 132 countries/network were recorded
3. HKSCCM book is hopefully be ready for publish in May 2013
4. The ASM 2012 will be held on 2nd December 2012 at Nathan Room of Smart Eaton Hotel, and had received sponsors from eleven pharmaceutical companies. The venue will also accommodate booths of exhibition by sponsors. On-line registration is now opened at http://hksccm.org/asm2012 . Council agrees to set valuable prizes for outstanding performers and researches in SIM Wars and free-paper presentation respectively.
5. RACEplus was added to the list of activities supported by CCMF subsidy
6. The 2012 Annual Report was adopted
7. Current HKSCCM council will be due for election in coming 2012 AGM. Any nomination for election must reach the secretary on or before 23rd November 2012
8. Council receives request of revision of the position statement “Certification of Death Following the Irreversible Cessation of Brainstem Function” with respect to the utilization of CT angiogram. Council delegates the review to the panel of experts including Dr. WW Yan; Dr. WM Chan; Dr. CK Koo and Dr. HY So.
9. HKSCCM will celebrate her 30th Anniversary in 2013. Dr. CW Lau, the chairman of organizing committee, met representatives of Pop Link Promotions Ltd together with Dr. WW Yan and Dr. YF Chan in October. After confirmation with the details, HKSCCM will engage the company as even organizer.
10. HKSCCM will co-organize M3C Conference 3.0 in April 2013. Preliminarily proposed topics include E-CPR; post-arrest care; CRRT updates and End-of-life care in Critical Care. Council will absorb opinion from members
11. On 18th October, HKSCCM jointed FMSHK to issue a public release to address the concern about a fatal incidence related to medical procedures utilized in cosmetic business
