The Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine, supported by Hong Kong Society for Emergency Medicine and Surgery, Hong Kong Emergency Nurses Association and Hong Kong College of Emergency Nursing, will organize the Scientific Symposium on Emergency Medicine – CAB for Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine: Consensus, Advances and Beliefs on 23-24 September 2011 at the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building. With the advance and multidisciplinary scientific program, we believe this collaboration will offer exciting opportunities for educational enhancement and exchange of professional ideas in Emergency Medicine.

Ultrasound Workshops
Dear colleagues,
On behalf of the organizing committee of the captioned event, I would like to introduce you to the 2 emergency & critical care bedside ultrasound workshops, namely the Ultrasound Life Support Basic Level provider 1 course (USLS BL1) and Emergency bedside lung ultrasound workshop.

The USLS BL1 provider course is a 2-days workshop run by the international and local faculties of World Interactive Network Focused on Critical UltraSound (http://www.winfocus.org/uscme/uscmc/usls ). In this workshop the participants would learn how to incorporate the bedside ultrasound skill into the conventional routine of managing critically ill patients. The course is particularly useful for those who need to manage critically ill patients in emergency or crtical care settings.

The one day Emergency Bedside Lung Ultrasound Workshop is run by Dr Daniel Lichtenstein (France) and other international experts in the field from Italy and Singapore. Participants would learn the updated skill and knowledge in lung ultrasound in the setting of emergency & critical care.
