Highlights of the Twenty-Second Council meeting on 20 Sept 2011
1. Revision of CCMF constitution had been finalized by adopting comments from the Honorary auditor, in order to fit the purpose of HKSCCM to function as a charitable institution.
2. Adopt nomination of Dr CHAU Chin Man as council member to represent NDH.
3. Cumulative content hit rate of HKSCCM web had reached ~ 1,500,000, and average daily rate is on an increasing trend. Drs Ian Chan and Jacky Chan were invited to be the associate editors.
4. Section on FAQ of Brainstem Death Certification was in operation on HKSCCM web. Generally, positive feedbacks are received.
5. ASM 2011 will be hosted on 4th December 2011 at the HKEC training center. Overseas speakers from Macau, Mainland China and Taiwan were confirmed to deliver talks in plenary sessions. Wide variety of topics will be covered including ECMO, trauma, ultrasound ICU usage, simulation, disaster. Second calling for registration will be issued soon.
6. Two lectures will be organized in Oct 2011, with themes of selective digestive decontamination and CRRT usage in septic patient with acute kidney injury. Former lecture will be co-coordinated with HKCA, while the latter will combine with COC (ICU) commissioned training.
7. HKSCCM will be celebrating 30th anniversary in 2013. Preliminary programs including (1) Book publication, in which the draft had been actively under editing; (2) Public education, to be led by Dr CW Lau.
8. The Council decided not to host the 9th Winfocus World Congress. The organizer of WinFocus is an organization based in Italy promoting USG usage for non-radiologist clinicians. However, HKSCCM agreed to nominate Dr KW Lam and Dr Philip Lam to join the local ITU (International Training Unit) which is going to organize local courses for interested doctors in Hong Kong.
9. Companies Registry and IRD will be informed by the Secretary about the changes of board of directors and registered address.
