Literature Appraisal Workshop, a regularly organized EBM training program from 2005. It is organized by Evidence-based Medicine Subcommittee of Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine.
EBM is the fundamental training for all medical and nursing staff, no matter in the research project, examination or in the daily practice. The workshop stresses on interactive tutorial to teach how to conduct a study, hands on literature search, types of study, randomized control trial, meta-analysis, diagnostic study, prognosis and harm. It de-emphasis the traditional lecture because the interaction between tutors and participants is more effective in knowledge acquiring.
The tutors are animated and experienced in teaching EBM in local and international EBM training. Many of them are invited to facilitate the Asia-Pacific EBM Conference in Singapore yearly.
The workshop opened to medical and nursing staff in all specialities since 2010. Participants included medical staff from ICU, Medical, Pediatric, Diagnostic Radiology, Psychiatric, nursing staff from emergency medicine, medical and private practitioner.
7th Literature Appraisal Workshop comprise of 5 morning sessions, from 3 Nov 2011 to 12 Dec 2011, please refer to the attached poster and application form for the details.
All medical and nursing staff are welcome.
