On behalf of the Organising Committee, we would like to invite you to the Annual Scientific Meeting 2011 organised by the Hong Kong Pain Society. This will be held from 7 pm on 12th May 2011 at the Eaton Hotel, Jordan, Hong Kong. On the same day, the Hong Kong Pain Society will also be co-organising a full day interventional workshop at Pok Oi Hospital.
The theme of the Annual Scientific meeting is “New Horizon in Pain Management in China and Hong Kong”. We are privileged to have 3 prominent specialists in the field of Pain Medicine to talk on the following topics:
(1) Development of Pain Medicine in China (Prof You Wan)
(2) Development of Pain Management in Hong Kong (Dr Steven Wong)
(3) Acute Pain Management: Scientific Evidence and Clinical implications. (A/Prof Pam Macintyre)
During the meeting, we will also be commemorating the Hong Kong Pain Society becoming a local Chapter of the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP). It is our honour to have Prof Gabriel M Leung, Under-Secretary for Food and Health Bureau, HKSAR, as our officiating guest. Prof Catherine Bushnell (Treasurer, IASP) as well as Prof You Wan (President, Chinese Association for Study of Pain) will also be joining us.
