A 45-year-old man with history of thalassemia intermedia was clinically admitted for investigation of bilateral exudative pleural effusion. He has had splenectomy as a child. He refused iron chelation therapy despite need for repeated blood transfusion. He has also had cord compression due to extramedullary hematopoiesis. His other interesting images can be viewed here.
