Highlights of the Tenth Council meeting on 22 September 2009
- The bank account of the HKSCCM limited is in full operation
- The joint annual scientific symposium of HKSCCM and HK Association of Critical Care Nurses (HKACCN) will be held at 17-18 October 2009 at Hospital Authority Building. Around 150 participants had been registered. All those members who are interested to attend the symposium are advised to submit registration form together with payment as early as possible.
- The Editor-in-Chief of the HKSCCM website reported that the cumulative hit rate of HKSCCM web site (www.hksccm.org) had reached around 100,000 since its opening. The editorial board would like to encourage members to submit interesting cases/ imaging and articles to share on the website. The materials can be submitted to Dr Lau Chun Wing of PYNEH ICU or via the editors of your centers. For those editors who had forgot the password, please feel free to contact webmaster Dr Chan King Chung Kenny of PYNEH ICU.
- HKSCCM is now considering affiliation with APACCM and its official journal Critical Care & Shock. The details will be announced soon.
- Society’s consensus statement on “Brain death certification” had been undergone revision. The finalized version will be published in society’s website and be accessed by all members. The consensus statement will be suggested to Hospital Authority as practical guidelines.
- The CCM Inter-hospital Grand Round will be jointly organized by Hong Kong Association of Critical Care Nurses (HKACCN) with effect from next meeting in order to encourage more participation from nurses. Continuous Nursing Education (CNE) will be provided apart from CME.
