In conjunction with US Special Libraries Association’s (SLA) Centennial, the BioMedical & Life Sciences Division conducted a poll to identify the 100 most influential journals of Biology & Medicine over the last 100 years in their centenneial celebration.
The list was selected by the 868 members of the Biomedical and Life Sciences Division of the Special Libraries Association (SLA). The SLA is a prestigious, international organization of over 11,000 members.

Winning journals which include critical care and emergency medicine information include:
1. Annals of Emergency Medicine, (1972) Elsevier for the American College of Emergency Physicians
2. Chest, (1935) The American College of Chest Physicians
2. Critical Care Medicine, (1973) Wolters Kluwer Health / Lippincott, Williams & Wilkins for the Society of Critical Care Medicine
and certainly the major journals of the longest history that the HKSCCM site keeps tracking also won:
1. JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association, (1883) American Medical Association & HighWire Press
2. The Lancet, (1823) Elsevier’s Lancet Group
3. New England Journal of Medicine, (1812) Massachusetts Medical Society & HighWire Press
