I am from Ministry of Health, Singapore. We were doing international comparisons in bed capacity of high dependency units across different countries. Since the data in the literature is sparse and hardly comparable, we thought of computing the ratios that are comparable by collecting the following data:
1) HDU beds 2) ICU beds 3) Total acute care beds 4) Total population of Hong Kong 5) HDU bed occupancy rates (BOR) 6) ICU bed occupancy rate 7) type of HDU facilities that hospitals provides i.e. whether HDU beds are integrated within ICU, run in parallel with ICU or HDU are run as an independent facility? BY speciality or integrated

Hope you enjoy the new layout. KC Tuesday, 12 May 2009 Webmaster: Width of Web page & access in HA's Netwo...Dear jc, Thank you for your suggestions. As most PC monitors used nowadays are at least 17 inches, this website is best viewed with 1280x1024 resolution. We do understand the inconvenience experienced by users having a monitor of lesser resolution (such as laptop), but formating large amount of materials to a smaller resolution is quite difficult. We will see if we can rearrange things to fit into a smaller screen. To my best understanding, HA will not allow access to the internet (including this website) in the CMS stations. All open PCs are allowed to access this website. However, you may be asked to enter a internet password. It is because some of the contents of this site are external our server (such as YouTube), and current HA policy only allow authorized person to access these site. Just click "Cancel" and you can still see all the contents hosted in our server. We'll keep updating this site to serve the ICU community. KC Webmaster Sunday, 10 May 2009 Guest: width of the webpageDear Webmaster Do you think it would be easy to read the web if the 'width' can fit into the window screen. jc

At last we know that this website is being accessed by non-administrators even at the construction phase! This website is still under construction, but very soon, hopefully within 1 to 2 months, we will see how we can assign usernames and passwords to all 91 members. Now all articles are accessible to everybody, we have not limited access to any sections yet. What we do need now is your feedback on the content, because we will finalize the layout very soon. In Jan 2009 I will show your hospital editors to upload information for you. Please collect enough interesting cases to upload!
